After signing a first partnership with Deliveroo in spring 2020, the Casino group is extending its collaboration with the global home delivery market giant for two years … The objective of this partnership is to offer a delivery service via Deliveroo in more 1,500 stores such as Franprix, Monop ‘, Monoprix, La Nouvelle Cave, Casino Supermarkets, etc.
The promise of delivery in less than 30 minutes on average
In April 2021, the Casino group strengthened its express home delivery service by signing a partnership with Uber Eats, leader in this market in France. And because food delivery meets growing consumer demand, it has also just renewed its alliance with Deliveroo for two more years. In fact, in May 2020, the two companies had established a collaboration for a delivery offer in hundreds of stores in the network (Géant Casino, Monoprix, Vival, Spar, Casino Supermarkets, Monop ‘, Le Petit Casino, Petit Casino and Casino Shop ). Users of the Deliveroo application can order from these brands and have it delivered to their homes in less than 30 minutes on average.
A three-step partnership
The Casino group indicates that the extension of its alliance will be accompanied by the integration of new points of sale in its network. In the long term, it aims for 1,500 stores served by the solution, instead of the current 500 … A partnership which therefore allows Deliveroo to “expand its offer to extra shopping, thanks to large local brands appreciated by the French. and present throughout the country ”, it is stated in the joint press release. For its part, the Casino group is thus promoting its promising local formats: urban, premium and convenience stores.
A strategy of the Casino group that links a multi-partner approach and its own services
Deliveroo is not the only major player in the digitization of services with which the Casino group works. This is particularly the case with Amazon, which has been working with Monoprix and Naturalia since 2018 in the Paris region, and since June 2021 with the Casino brands (Géant Casino and Casino Supermarkets). In May 2020, the Monoprix automated warehouse located in Fleury-Mérogis is put into service. Developed in partnership with the startup Ocado specializing in robotics, the warehouse will process, on behalf of Monoprix’s food e-commerce solution, Monoprix Plus, more than 50,000 items by the end of 2021. And a few months after its launch, the warehouse is also used for the Casino, Géant Casino and Casino supermarkets.
So many bricks that complete the delivery offers developed by the Casino group, like Franprix, which continues to develop its delivery offer in less than thirty minutes in several cities in France. A global strategy focused on responding to a fundamental trend: the growing consumer appeal of online delivery services.
