The celebration of the 25th anniversary of São Paulo Fashion Week, the main event in Brazilian fashion, will take on a format to the extent of the pandemic.
Instead of the usual parades, the celebration will take place with an essentially digital event, held the week of November 4th to 8th. The format will be assembled from an agenda of historical and unpublished content, amplified by the networks, and shared in multiple projections in the city.
“We came to design a hybrid format, observing all health protocols, with a reduced physical structure and audience restriction. But we concluded that the concentration of countless professionals working behind the scenes at the parades would be inevitable and that, despite all the care, they would be exposed to risks. In view of the still uncertain prospect of a solution for the health emergency situation, our priority more than ever is the safety of people “, says the note on the new concept.
SPFW is in essence a great meeting of people, a space for collective creation. “Planned as a major festival in 2020 to mark the celebrations of 25 years of its history, at the beginning of the year, with the pandemic imminent, even before the adoption of social isolation measures in the city and in the country, we made the difficult decision to cancel the April season “, explain the organizers.
“We decided to transfer the SPFW + Festival project to 2021. We are sure that the greatest stimulus at that moment is to care, believe, and create. An inspiring impulse, a brilliance of what is to come, renewing the belief in our values, in people and in our creative expressions “, says the note.
