Update: problem solved. A tweet from TF1 confirms, at 1:42 p.m., that the situation is resolved and that the 1 p.m. news will be broadcast.
Bad news for TF1: the group has been the victim of what seems, for the moment, to be a technical problem, although no official communication has been published. Result: for the first time in the history of the channel, on February 18, 2021, 1 p.m. was not broadcast.
A historic first for the 13 hours of TF1
From the history of the channel, recent or old, it’s unheard of: the 13 hours of TF1 on February 18, 2021 did not take place.
The announcement was made live by Marie-Sophie Lacarrau, who recently took over from Jean-Pierre Pernaud, and who thus marks the history of the channel once again.
She spoke up, the live broadcast didn’t seem to have any issues, to state quite simply that for technical problems, no report nor any image will be able to be diffused.
The 13 hours of February 18, 2021 will therefore have lasted… 1 minute and 12 seconds, as we can see in the video below.
Simple technical problem or hacking?
We will have to wait for an official communication from TF1 to see more clearly, but the question arises: Could TF1 have been the victim of piracy?
At the start of 2021, in France, numerous attacks, targeting hospitals and businesses in particular, were identified and thwarted. But some were able to block the services for several hours.
